This person is an expert in product cost and cost analysis and is a business partner to the Lab Operations leadership team; driving improved financial visibility and accountability, as well as increased profitability while maintaining world-class service and quality.Core Responsibilities:Support the implementation of a full standard cost system for our Clinical and Pharma laboratoriesPartner with Lab Operations leadership and Operations Finance to implement daily, weekly or monthly reporting tools to measure actual versus standard/baseline costTrack and analyze trends, variances, concerns and opportunities regarding operations department cost center expenses and variances, headcount, and capital spending and provide proactive recommendations to optimize efficiency and productivityPartner with Cost Accounting to ensure accurate, timely financial results. Develop understanding of accrual process and balances through quarterly Balance Sheet reviews with Accounting teamDetermine fixed and variable costs and calculate and analyze volume leverage on fixed costs (e.g. indirect labor salaries, rent and equipment)Travel estimated at 10%Requirements:Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree (e.g. Finance, Business Administration, Accounting) preferred5+ years of combined related financial and accounting experience required; proven work experience as a cost accountant or cost analyst required.Experience in manufacturing or laboratory environment strongly preferred.Strong written and oral communication skills and able to work effectively with all employee levels.Familiarity with internal controls and audit proceduresExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.Advance Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, Essbase (SmartView), and Hyperion strongly preferred.
