The Senior Analyst, IT (Commercial) will serve as a business partner and application expert in delivering technology and providing operational support for Avanir's Commercial related business applications and business functions. Primary job duties will include creating technical documentation, creating user stories & personas, analyzing, refining, implementing, and supporting applications, while adhering to effective SDLC processes. Will collaborate and consult with Commercial business partners to achieve operational goals and program effectiveness. The position will be primarily responsible for business application management for Avanir's Commercial business functions, while also supporting technologies across Avanir's G&A functions, as needed. Successful candidates are expected to have technical expertise, knowledge and hands-on experience supporting IT capabilities and applications for the Commercial function of companies, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical devices industries. In addition, the candidate will have demonstrated experience working with cross-functional services groups including Commercial Operations, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Compliance and Project Management to ensure successful business alignment, application integration, solution delivery, technology architecture, application maintenance & operational support and IT security that meets or exceeds the quality standards and compliance requirements expected within the pharmaceutical industry. Essential Job Functions: Provide IT expertise to support the delivery and operation of technology solutions for Commercial business functions. The primary focus will be setting up and maintaining business applications for Medical CRM, Inside Sales Team, Vault, Promomats, etc. Actively collaborate on user requirements specification, design specification, system and business configuration, system build, validation plan and report, test script development and execution, technical manuals, user training, system release to production and transition to operation. Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong hands-on experience and technical expertise in the following areas: Requirements: Participate in project initiation process. Understand business process modeling techniques; Develop concept/ domain models, process flows and data flow diagrams. Collect and document business needs, use cases and requirements. Develop User Requirement Specifications. Collate end user requirements and translate into possible solutions. Architecture and Design: Understand enterprise architecture and system design principles and contribute to the evaluation of design options including design elements related to UI/UX, System Integration, Data Reporting, etc. based on industry standards and best practices. Develop & document Configuration or Design Specifications. Implementation: Partner in and potentially lead the delivery of technology solutions aligned with business requirements. Coordinate resolution of technical issues and ensure application meets the intended use, with quality and efficiency. Work with vendors or other subject matter experts (SMEs) to produce viable technology solutions and manage expectations around technology. Testing and Validation: Have a solid understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle methodologies including Agile & Waterfall. Participate in risk and impact analysis of new applications or components to existing business processes & operations, changes to existing applications or components according to Avanir policies & procedures and regulatory compliance requirements. Contribute to the creation of testing scripts and manage the end-to-end process of unit and system/integration testing. Release: Create technical manuals, training materials, provide user trainings in conjunction with functional partners to prepare for operational release. Support application upgrades and prepare release memos and communications. Operation: Work with internal & external groups to manage the overall clinical systems maintenance and operational support. Coordinate and engage appropriate stakeholders, users and vendor staff to manage application maintenance needs, product releases, service requests, incidents, problems and change controls. Should have a good understanding of the difference between "click-to-configure"-- - vs custom development in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and the ability to work through the process of change management from development/ configuration to end user training. Should be a strong advocate for designing with end user effectiveness in mind and exposure to Agile development methodologies. Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, project managers, and stakeholders. Have an overall understanding of development, integrations and technical product management. Must have strong work ethic, trust, integrity, and accountability. Other projects or duties will be expected as assigned. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice."-- - Education/ Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related scientific, technical, or business field. 4+ years of relevant work experience in an Information Technology role in the pharmaceutical, biotech or medical devices industries supporting or implementing Commercial IT applications. Proficiency with MS Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.). Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional customer service focus and perspective. Must be well organized, flexible, and responsive with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Demonstrated experience with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is required Preferred: Understanding of GxP Computer System Validation (CSV) & SOX. 2+ years of hands-on support or implementation experience and relevant certifications in Salesforce, Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault or similar Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms. Junior or associate technical product management experience. Proficiency using JIRA, Confluence, Aha! and other agile tools. Physical Requirements: This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and frequent walking. Daily use of a computer, phone, office equipment and other computing and digital devices is required. May be required to stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel may be necessary, so the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license and/or effectively navigate public transportation is required. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee must be able to read and respond to interoffice communications as well as effectively participate in meetings. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to lift up to 20 lbs., pull, push, carry, handle or feel. The employee is required to carry, handle items, reach with arms and hands, to stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.
