Overview: Invicro seeks an independent and motivated research scientist to contribute to contract research studies whose primary goal is pre-clinical drug discovery. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out histology and immunohistochemistry studies to explore and support target validation and drug development. The Scientist in this role will be working hands-on with a diversity of techniques ranging from standard histological staining and microscopy to method development and implementation of novel autoradiography assays using radioactive compounds. The Scientist is highly self-motivated and goal-oriented and is able to apply a wide range of wet-bench and histology-based techniques, such as IHC, multiplex-IF, and ISH. They must have familiarity and experience in tissue image analysis involving immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence multiplexing with rodent, canine, non-human primate, and human tissue samples. The Scientist is, capable of taking initiatives and working independently as well as in the team setting, with proven capability of attention to detail. They will be able to self-organize and operate effectively without significant day-to-day oversight, while staying tightly connected to internal stakeholders.Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Implementing grossing and histology methodsDevelop immunohistochemical (IHC) and immunofluorescent (IF) techniques on mammalian tissue sections to develop and implement histology assays, including single- and multiplexing.Perform high-throughput automated immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridizationPerform experiments to improve assay performance and robustnessPerform antibody assay validations with frozen/FFPE tissue samplesGenerate experimental results using whole slide scannersDiscuss and present experimental data and research findings in both written and oral formats.Work collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects and coordinate activities with other team members.Maintenance/tracking of collected samples and slidesQualifications and Skills:BS with at least 3 years of experienceMust have experience in optimizing IHC/IF antibodies manually and with various automated equipmentSkill with microscopy and whole slide imagingAbility to multitask work and meet deadlines in an environment of changeStrong analytical skills and ability to balance attention to detail while working to deadlines Self-motivated and resourceful with good interpersonal skillsAbility to independently manage workflow to see projects through from start to completionWhat We Offer:Competitive salaryFull Benefits 401k with generous matchingFlexible vacation policySuccessful candidates must comply with COVID-19 Workplace Safety mandate requirementsInvicro is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
