Staff or Project Geologist

Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this position is a geologist (or related discipline) with the skills and willingness to apply knowledge to a variety of environmental projects, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), groundwater monitoring, soil sampling, soil gas and indoor air sampling, and remediation investigation, design, and implementation.? Responsibilities include performing field inspections, researching the history of various types of properties, collecting environmental samples, logging soil borings, installing monitoring wells, managing and analyzing environmental data, preparing graphs and maps, and writing clear, concise field notes and reports under the supervision of a licensed professional geologist.? - -Job Requirements:

• BSc or MSc degree in geology or hydrogeology; BA or MA acceptable with appropriate course work and/or thesis; 3 to 10 years of related job experience
• Familiarity with environmental site assessment and data collection methods, either through course work ?or related job experience
• Personable and good verbal and written communication skills (high proficiency in English required)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat; GIS and/or modeling skills a plus
• Self-starter, resourceful, and organized, with the ability to work productively and independently on multiple projects concurrently under strict deadlines and budgets
• Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical judgment and problem-solving capabilities
• Willingness to work in the field (requires lifting and moderately strenuous physical activity) and to travel when necessary
• Previous environmental consulting experience and current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification are a plus
