The Opportunity

The Funding Team Lead assists the Funding Supervisor to oversee the department and ensure daily performance expectations are met and functions are performed accurately, timely, and within established policies, procedures, and best practices. The Funding Team Lead will also assist in planning, communicating, tracking, troubleshooting, escalations, projects, hiring, training, coaching, and employee development. The Funding Team Lead works collaboratively with departmental leaders, employees, and business partners to ensure consistent and timely follow up to customers and business partners. Our ideal candidate will enjoy leading others within a fast-paced, goal driven environment, be able to multitask, have strong leadership and communication skills, be poised and professional at all times, and have a desire to progress into a future supervisory role.

The Work Itself

* Assist in overseeing the department and communicating goals and metrics to team members
* Assist in scheduling and delegating workloads and tasks
* Monitor reports and work queues, tracking team performance and providing feedback to employees
* Assist with planning, hiring, training, coaching, and employee development
* Assist with escalated files, customer escalations, and answering funding questions from the team
* Troubleshoot difficult situations and provide proper guidance and direction to team members
* Support and reinforce a productive work environment utilizing appropriate strategies
* Communicate effectively and provide team members with information regarding process changes and best practices
* Build successful working relationships with peers, managers, business partners and other employees
* Collaborate with employees, manager, and business partners to identify, recommend, and implement approved process improvements
* Champion core values & ensure team members deliver a fully aligned experience with our customers
* Complete assigned projects, as needed

The Skills You Bring

* Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; four-year degree preferred
* Experience in customer service, loan processing or document handling required
* Prior leadership experience preferred
* Fast learner that can comprehend, retain, train, and implement required policies and procedures
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, work independently and as part of a team
* Detail orientated with excellent time management and organizational skills
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, and effective listening skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate
* Must exude exceptional customer service
* Strong critical thinking skills that will be used to generate resolutions for escalated accounts and proposed process improvements
* Must be comfortable talking on the phone with customers, peers, and business partners
* Proficient computer skills, including MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Ability to work overtime hours and Saturdays, as needed
