Job Overview:
The Sr. Business Partner will report to the VP, People and provide HR consultation and direction in the areas of people strategy, change and leadership development to assigned business groups. The Sr. Business Partner formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The Sr. HR Business Partner serves as an employee advocate while balancing business strategies. The Sr. Business Partner maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its mid-term and long-term plans, its culture and its competition. The HR Business Partner is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to several senior leaders of the organization and their respective orgs.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide strategic HR business consulting to leaders of the company. The Sr. Business Partner will advise, coach and facilitate discussion with leaders to influence the business as we scale and evolve to enable our teams to fiercely compete in the market.
Lead special projects as needed that may include but are not limited to M&A activity, new system/process implementations and optimizing organization design
Be a trusted advisor to the business by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with management and employees and knowing the business inside and out
Assess, develop, and coach managers and employees and work closely with the Talent Management function to develop and strengthen our internal leadership capabilities. Recommend additional training programs to augment what is offered internally by Ambry.
Drive performance management, including reviews, promotions, performance commitment plans, and separations
Conduct investigations, recommend and implement corrective actions, and counsel employees and managers, guided by company policies, internal process, industry best practices, and relevant labor laws
Partner closely with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to develop and implement effective staffing plans
Serve as a culture steward and role model for the organization re-enforcing desired behaviors. Spearhead and participate in driving various initiatives.
Review and analyze data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and the employee experience
Provide compensation support to address internal equity concerns, promotions, transfers, etc.
Collaborate with other members of the People Team to take on process improvement initiatives and other special projects as assigned

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's required and MBA strongly preferred
Strong knowledge base of federal and CA state regulations
A sound understanding of core HR concepts and models
SPHR preferred
Comfortable with ambiguity, thinks quickly, and makes well-informed decisions.
Excellent business acumen and an ability to understand a P&L.
Demonstrated achievements in coaching, influencing and problem solving with all levels of the organization.
Strong judgment and employee relations experience.
Expertise in assessing management and executive talent.
Broad experience and specific knowledge of human resource theory, including employee relations, learning, and performance management.
Be an effective communicator in writing, facilitation, be able to drive change, facilitate internal communication processes, and facilitate dissemination of internal customer information.
Experience working in dynamic environments requiring both strategic expertise as well as the proven ability and interest to be hands-on and tactical
7-10 years in HR of progressive HR experience in a global setting
5+ year of business partner experience required
