An employer in Aliso Viejo, CA is looking for a Hardware
Engineer to join the team that designs hardware for Playstation.
This person must be able to define requirements, document design
and what it needs to look like, and work with External Hardware
Partners across Tokyo and Taiwan and engage with these companies.
These partners are the ones designing the hardware - (circuit
boards, servers, etc). Once they review the design work, they will
assist with testing and validating any hardware. This person must
have excellent communication skills since they will be in full
communication with Hardware Partners through weekly meetings and
daily emails. The team is consisted of 2 Engineers and will
continue to grow over the next 5 years.
Project: Building custom servers and circuit boards - building over
1000+ servers for all Playstation products.
Japanese or Mandarin Language
Experience with HPC / Cluster technologies including high-speed
interconnect fabrics. (PCIe 4 / 5 or GenZ)
5+ years of experience as a Hardware Engineer through all stages of
the development, manufacture and release cycles
5+ years of experience with Design Considerations, Electrical
Design, Prototyping, Circuit, and PCB Design
5+ years of experience with FPGAs & Embedded Software (Field
Programmable Gate Arrays)
5+ years of experience with CAD Tools (AutoCAD/SolidWorks)
Proficient with schematic capture and board layout software
Experience in a datacenter, ISP/telco datacenter or network PoP
environment (Server Background - Facebook, Apple, Google, Silicon
Valley or Austin, TX area)
Strong Understanding with scaled supply chains, especially with
server ODMs, OEMs or contract manufacturers
Technical Coding Experience for prototyping, automation, & testing
(Python, Bash Scripting, C/C++)
BA Degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, etc)
