Care, Skid-Row: Downtown Los Angeles, CA Position Purpose: The
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a Residential Care Facility
for the Elderly (RCFE) plays a vital role in delivering
compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults who require
assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). Under the
supervision of licensed nursing staff, CNAs provide hands-on
support with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing,
grooming, toileting, and mobility. They also assist with feeding,
medication reminders, and the safe transfer of residents when
needed. Their commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment,
adherence to infection control protocols, and participation in
ongoing training all contribute to enhancing residents’ overall
quality of life. The CNA also supports daily patient care, hygiene,
and basic clinical tasks as assigned. Program Population: The
Crocker Residential Care is a licensed Residential Care Facility
for the Elderly (RCFE) that provides 24/7 non-medical care and
supervision to adults aged 60 and older living with chronic health
conditions. Our program offers a home-like environment with support
for activities of daily living (ADLs), medication reminders, and a
focus on social engagement and independence. Principal
Responsibilities: Provide direct, hands-on care to residents by
assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including
bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility
support. Support residents’ hygiene needs by changing clothing,
assisting with incontinence care, and ensuring personal cleanliness
and comfort. Engage with residents in a compassionate,
non-judgmental manner that upholds their dignity, privacy, and
emotional well-being. Assist with welcoming and orienting new
residents, performing routine vital signs, and helping observe and
report changes in condition to licensed staff. Collaborate
effectively with the interdisciplinary care team, including LVNs,
case managers, behavioral health staff, and administrative
personnel to support holistic resident care. Maintain a safe,
clean, and supportive environment by following infection control
procedures, OSHA standards, and all applicable RCFE and Title 22
regulations. Assist with medication reminders and basic health
monitoring tasks under the supervision of licensed nursing staff,
in compliance with scope-of-practice regulations. Participate in
harm reduction efforts when appropriate, including overdose
prevention education, distribution of safe-use supplies, and
connection to supportive services. Provide assistance with mobile
or outreach activities as needed, helping extend care to residents
in various settings. Document all resident care activities,
observations, and services accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the evolving needs of
residents and support the facility’s mission. Requirements: Current
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification in California
required. CPR/BLS certification required. At least one (1) year of
CNA experience in a healthcare or community health setting
preferred. Comfort working in non-traditional clinical
environments, such as drop-in centers, outdoor park-lets, and
mobile units. Understanding of primary care needs for people
experiencing homelessness, including substance use, chronic
conditions, and behavioral health considerations. Strong teamwork
and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with an
interdisciplinary care team. Demonstrated ability to provide
compassionate, patient-centered care in a harm reduction and
trauma-informed framework. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
but not required. Additional Requirements: Applicants should be
aware that Crocker Residential is a pet-friendly environment. On
