JOB OVERVIEWAmbry is looking to hire a Pharma Services Director to generate new business opportunities in the CRO/pharma solutions space. The Director will work with directly with Amby's contract research department, advanced genomic services, and commercial operations team to support business development activities and identify new opportunities by leveraging existing industry contacts and representing company services and capabilities at various forums and industry meetings.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Target and source new clients by developing networks and independently identifying and developing relevant resources for sales and business development* Directly develop customer relationships with personal accountability for a sales goal* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure an excellent client experience across all client interactions from needs assessment through delivery and follow up* Work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing to develop creative outreach strategies to attract and retain clients* Work towards sales and revenue goals as established in partnership with the executive leadership team* Provide quotes on prospective sales orders* Represent Ambry services and capabilities at tradeshows and conferences* Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP)* Negotiate client contractsEDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE* Advanced degree in science and/or business strongly preferred (M.S., Ph.D., M.B.A). Consideration will be given to candidates with comparable education and experience. Pharma sales/BD experience* At least 10+ years of experience in CRO business development or pharma services role providing services directly to the pharmaceutical industry with direct experience in pharma and/or biotech account management* Proven ability in presenting and negotiating* Experience with FDA regulations governing clinical trials (e.g. GCP, GXP, GMP) and knowledge of 21 CFR is a plus* Strong network in pharma, biotech, and/or diagnostic industry, ability to grow new clients and/or expand existing ones* Experience with alliance and/or partnership management, due diligence reviews, cross-organizational collaborations* Demonstrated experience building key customer relationshipsTECHNICAL COMPETENCIES* Thorough knowledge of CRO and pharmaceutical industry, terminology and practices* Strong commercial and scientific acumen* Ability to quickly develop a high-level understanding of complex technical and scientific issues and the ability to communicate this understanding in a clear manner* Excellent client facing interpersonal and communication skills, as well as exceptional written, verbal and presentation abilities* Exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to build and grow connections with people of all types and backgrounds* Independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills* Competence and confidence using technology as an integral part of the sales process, ideally including experience with com* Ability to keep multiple projects and client engagements active at once* Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertainty* Style alignment with a strengths-oriented team environment and the ability to naturally elevate others* Interest in working as part of a small and dynamic team, with awareness about the opportunities and challenges that come with a highly adaptive environmentAbout Us:Ambry Genetics Corporation is a CAP-accredited and CLIA-licensed molecular genetics laboratory based in Aliso Viejo, California.
